Private Makonikey Beaches ...
The two exclusive Makonikey beaches face Vineyard Sound and the Elizabeth Islands.
Upper Makonikey Beach boasts a backdrop of spectacular cliffs and is a short distance from Lambert's Cove beach. A parking area allows for easy access down a sloping stairway. The eastern bounty of the beach is Split Rock, a scenic Vineyard landmark.
The lower beach provides for easy access from a parking area. It's the perfect solution for the family that brings lots of beach items along with them.
West Tisbury Town Beaches ...
House guests have the privilege of utilizing the West Tisbury beaches of Lambert's Cove and South Beach. A small fee is paid at the West Tisbury town hall and a beach sticker is issued. Bring your rental agreement with you to the town hall for verification.
Public Beaches of Martha's Vineyard ...
The Island has many public beaches throughout the coastal shoreline. Check with your visitors information booklet for locations.
| Oak Bluffs Town Beach | Calm, shallow, open to all. The beach terminates at the first jetty heading towards Edgartown. This is located at the end of the breakwater and is marked by a fence. The beach continues, again, about one-mile southeast of the small inlet flowing into Sengekontacket Pond to the state beach. |
| Joseph Sylvia State Beach | Two miles of clear, mild beach between Oak Bluffs and Edgartown. Accessible by bus. |
| Lighthouse Beach | A harbor beach at Starbuck's Neck, Edgartown. |
